Ranjit Bhargava is the eldest son of Raja Ram Kumar Bhargava and the scion of the Munshi Newal Kishore family in Lucknow. Ever since 1965, he has been devoted to social causes, especially protecting the environment, wildlife, and man-made heritage. His PhD is on the ‘Role of India’s Border States in her Internal, External and Defense Policies’. He was Chairman of WWF, UP & Convenor of INTACH, UP. Awarded with Padma Shri, The Order of Golden Arch by the Netherlands and the Order of Merit by Germany.
